Dear Diary, Meet Keke ♡

an introduction to the girl behind the oversharing.

Dear Diary,

    I made a blog!

Well, technically, if you're reading this, I've probably been blogging for a little while now. But every good story needs an introduction, and since this particular story revolves around yours truly, I figured we should probably get acquainted.

Consider this my little corner of the internet. A digital diary, if you will, filled with random thoughts, current obsessions, questionable decisions, unsolicited psychological analyses of my own behavior, and probably a concerning amount of oversharing.

But before we get into all of that, allow me to introduce myself.

Hi! I'm Keona, but you can call me Keke. ♡

I'm 22, a Libra born on October 22, and a self-proclaimed lover of all things pink, girly, and unnecessarily dramatic.

I'm also a lifelong Hello Kitty enthusiast. And before anybody rolls their eyes, I'd like to make it very clear that I was an OG fan. I've been representing Miss Kitty since I was approximately three years old, long before she became everybody's favorite aesthetic. I have photographic evidence, should anybody wish to challenge this claim.

Currently, I'm a college student majoring in Statistics, which technically makes me a #WomanInSTEM. Do I always feel like a woman in STEM? Absolutely not. But the hashtag is cute, and I intend to use it.

As far as my interests go, I'm a bit of a mixed bag.

My favorite movie of all time is Mamma Mia! (2008). I could probably recite the entire screenplay from memory, and I firmly believe that nearly every problem in life could be improved with an ABBA soundtrack and a spontaneous trip to Greece.

My favorite television show is Pretty Little Liars, which, in retrospect, probably explains a lot about my personality. It was my first introduction to anything remotely resembling horror, and although I recognize that the show is objectively ridiculous at times, eight-year-old me was absolutely terrified. And obsessed.

I'm also a sucker for nostalgia, a good romance, a dramatic plot twist, and anything that makes me feel like the main character in a 2000s teen movie.

Personality-wise, I'd describe myself as a walking contradiction.

I'm simultaneously a hopeless romantic and a professional overthinker. I'm incredibly sensitive, yet I have a tendency to pretend things don't bother me. I love being surrounded by people, but I also spend an alarming amount of time inside my own head.

I can turn a seemingly insignificant interaction into a full-blown psychological investigation, complete with theories, supporting evidence, and several conclusions that may or may not be entirely delusional.

In other words, I'm a lot.

And this blog is probably going to reflect that.

I originally started Keeping Up With Keke because I decided regular journaling simply wasn't dramatic enough for me. That, and my hand would start cramping after a few pages, so typing seemed like the logical solution.

But somewhere along the way, this little hobby started becoming something more meaningful.

It's where I document my life as it happens, but it's also where I try to understand myself. My relationships, my insecurities, my attachment patterns, my family dynamics, and all the complicated emotions that come with being a twenty-something who has absolutely no idea what she's doing.

Oh, and one little disclaimer before we go any further: everyone who makes an appearance in this diary has been given an alias. Friends, family, romantic interests, and anyone else who happens to find themselves caught up in the plot. For the sake of their privacy (and perhaps my own peace of mind), I don't use anyone's real name except mine. The people are real, the stories are real, but the names? Entirely fictional. Think of it as my own little cast of characters. After all, every good story needs a little mystery, doesn't it?

Some entries will be lighthearted. Others will be embarrassingly vulnerable. Some will probably read like an episode of a reality television show, while others might resemble a therapy session I decided to publish on the internet.

I can't promise consistency in my life, but I can promise honesty in my writing.

Sometimes my thoughts wander into darker places, and I don't want to pretend those parts of me don't exist. But I also know that I'm full of so much light, love, curiosity, and a frankly ridiculous amount of enthusiasm for the smallest things.

I'm learning that both sides of me can exist at once.

I don't have everything figured out. Not my future, not my love life, and certainly not myself.

But maybe that's the whole point of keeping a diary.

Not to document a perfectly curated life, but to capture the messy, confusing, beautiful experience of figuring it out as I go.

So whether you're here for the dating drama, the occasional existential crisis, the random life updates, or simply because you're nosy (don't worry, I would be too), welcome to my world.

Make yourself comfortable. There's a lot to unpack.

xoxo, Keke♡
